Bathroom "Master"piece
En Suite Re-Design:
Everyone knows the en suite is one of the most important rooms, so it would make sense we spent the most time working on this small corner of the house. I always thought my dream bathroom would be a zen-like sanctuary with a huge shower and double vanity but when I first toured the house I didn't think creating that mini spa at home was possible in the space we had. With a lot of thought, scribbles on sticky notes and back and forth, voila, the dream became a reality!
Before:
Take a look back at this CRAZY before shot of the master bathroom. It was so tiny, dated and covered in floral wallpaper (yikes). One sink, one itty bitty shower, and one vanity light. You couldnt even fit two adults in there at once!
The Process:
Once the design was finalized, we got to work right away! First we ended up relocating the furnace up into the attic to allow for a bigger shower. Then moved the wall between the bathroom and the master bedroom out a few feet which meant we ended up with a smaller than average second closet on that wall in the bedroom. But hey, perfect for shoes right? Demo days were long and tiring. Carrying heaps of concrete, chicken wire and old drywall out to the garage in batches was tough work! Then we switched the plumbing around so the vanity was on the back wall instead of the front. Dad even shifted the toilet over 3 inches to accommodate for a 60 inch vanity. Yes people, 3 inches...THREE...a seemingly unnecessary and silly thing to do but it saved us! (Shout out Daddio!) Here are some in progress shots over about 7 months!
The fun part
After the dust settled and the tile was sealed, it was finally it was time for the fun part! Decorating!
Faucets: Mohen
Mirrors: Wayfair
Shower Doors: A1 Shower Doors
Vanity Light: Wayfair
Vanity Fixtures: Home Depot
The Final Result
So, after almost 7 months, this project was complete! 100% worth every move we made and people are truly shocked when they see the before and after! (Yes, these are taking from the same vantage point!)
