African Mudcloth Gallery
A Unique gallery wall
There is no doubt African Mudcloth has taken the decor world by storm. This stunning, handmade fabric literally makes my heart sing. The deep indigo color, the unique patterns, the texture...I truly cannot get enough! I wanted to create all the art in the house and although I didnt handcraft this gorgeous fabric, I did frame it and create a pretty cool gallery wall for the dinning room.
Fabric: Found at Long Beach Antique Market - Each piece goes for about $30 and I only used one to fill four frames!
Pro Tip: Dig through the piles and inspect each one. They are all so unique and different. They also come in different colors like white, black, pink, mustard yellow and mulit-color.
Frames & Mattes: Ikea and Michaels - Framing was pretty easy, I laid the fabric over the matte and let it hang over a bit so there would be about a 1/2 inch to adhere to the matte. Then I pinned and cut! Using craft tape to keep the fabric in place I secured the mudcloth to the matte and viola! Framing complete!
Hanging: Make sure you measure out your gallery wall. I wanted them perfectly spaced out and honestly, taking the time to maliciously measure was key. (Thanks for the help Daddio!)
