Homemade Pickled Onions
These pickled onions could not be easier to make! With just a few ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen, you can make these super delish taco toppers too in under 10 minutes!
Ingredients:
-1 Red Onion (thinly sliced)
-1 1/2 T Kosher Salt
-1 1/2 T Sugar (Honey/Agave for natural substitute)
-1/2 c Apple Cider Vinegar
-1/2 c Warm-ish Water
-Red Pepper Flakes
The Process:
Start by thinly slicing the onion in rounds. Once chopped, add to mason jar or air-tight container. In a small bowl mix together apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, salt and red pepper flakes until completely combined then pour mixture over chopped onions and cover. In just a few short hours they will be perfectly pickled!
It’s as simple as that! These can be stored in the refrigerator for a week or so - if they last that long! Add to tacos, avocado toast, salads and more!
