Palm Springs Weekend Getaway

2 years as Husband + Wife

So much has happened over the last two years - married life has been pretty sweet to say the least! What better what to spend our anniversary weekend than in sunny Palm Springs?

Day 1 Roadtrip:

We started off with a little stop at Hadley’s for, what else, a banana date shake! A staple on any desert bound road trip. These shakes are creamy, cold and simply heavenly!

Once our shakes were settled, we headed to our hotel for a little poolside relaxation. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Palm Springs that offers a boutique, one-of-a-kind experience look no further than Sparrows Lodge. I’ve wanted to stay here for so long and we finally had the chance! From the second we arrived, I was in love. The rustic nature of the rooms and grounds were truly breathtaking. The staff was so friendly and accommodating - the attention to detail is unmatched! Not to mention, the welcome cocktails were pretty tasty too! The pool was quaint and the perfect temperature for an afternoon dip.

We stayed in one of the garden rooms that overlooked the inner courtyard. This room was a DREAM - white washed vaulted ceilings, unique, eclectic decor and not a television in site - my eyes, and soul, were in overdrive! Steps outside the door, there was comfy open air seating, lush landscape and misters that surrounded the walkways.

Dinner Night 1:

We enjoyed a cozy, firepit-lit dinner on site at The Barn Kitchen - two words….simply amazing. From the house pickled veggies to the to-die-for charcuterie (let’s take a minute to pause for the cheese and jam selection) to the incredible entrees, this dinner was nothing short of delectable!

Day 2 Relaxation:

Day two started out with a quick and delicious bite at the lodge. The breakfast spread in the barn was the perfect start to the day! An assortment of coffee, teas, oatmeal, banana bread and yogurt parfaits was just what we needed to tie us over until 2nd breakfast! Yes, I said second breakfast - hey, it’s vacation!

A short drive from the hotel, we stumbled upon the local bagel hot spot Townie Bagel. The line was long, so we knew the bagels must be good and man, were they! We have pretty high bagel standards but this place did not disappoint!

Day 2 was all about relaxing by the pool and, what else, massages - so we grabbed our bagels and headed back to grab a spot for the day. Lots of sunshine and poolside snacks made for the perfect afternoon!

Dinner Night 2:

I had done some serious research for a yummy dinner spot for our second night and came across Mr. Lyons - instantly i knew this would be our “anniversary dinner”. We rarely get dressed up and enjoy an adult night out - and this was just the place! The vintage Hollywood vibes, velvet tufted booths and moody lighting set the tone for the evening perfectly. Martinis, mashed potatoes and meaty steaks? What could be better? They even gave us a special anniversary treat to-go that we enjoyed fireside back at the hotel.

Day 3 - Last Day:

We got up a little earlier to really enjoy the pool before we had to check out and head to brunch. A warm cup of coffee and some fresh banana bread was the perfect end to our stay.

One last yummy meal at Boozehounds before we had to hit the road. If you’re looking for the best brunch in Palm Springs - this is it! From the decadent menu, to the flavorful cocktails and eye-catching decor - this place is a must-see/eat! From the second we walked in, I knew it was going to be a hit. (Highly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes!) Did I mention, its dog friendly??

With full tummies and happy hearts, we hit the road with nothing but magical memories and love on the mind. Hands down, one of the best trips we’ve had in a long time!

Here’s a little video of our weekend that I will cherish forever!
