Headboard Heaven

Custom DIY Wood Panel Headboard

I cannot be the only one who loves Anthropolgie headboards…the beautiful carved wood, the textures, the handmade look and feel….but you know what I don’t love? The price! I have been blessed with taste that exceeds my wallet (thanks Mom) but with a little imagination, hard work and creativity, we were able to build our own #anthroinspired headboard of our very own!

This beauty was made from wood panels that I found at a consignment store 5 years ago (finally getting around to it LOL)

I don’t have many “progress” pics - those of you who followed along on Instagram, you got to see it happening in real time!! If you happened to miss is, here was the process:

We started by painting the back wood supports white - just in case it happened to show through the front side.

Then we built the supports into a frame to ensure that there was enough support to hold the finished headboard upright.

Once the frame was assembled, we drilled pilot holes (very important people…never skip this step….it really does make the end result so much easier and cleaner!) Then we used small screws to attach the wood panels to the frame from the backside!

Added a few little felt bumpers to the top and ta-da - instant headboard!
