Valentine’s Day Decor
Hearts, hearts, HEARTS!
Playing a little bit of catch up and just getting to this cute post about Valentine’s day! This year, it being our first married Valentine’s day, we decided to stay home and really embrace just being together! What better way to celebrate than this cute surprise I whipped up for Derris? A menagerie of hanging hearts!
He came home after a long day at work to find my Anthropologie inspired display dangling over our dining room! When I was cutting out all these hearts it instantly took me back to my kindergarten days when we used to craft homemade valentines for our families! Not only was it fun but it looked so whimsical too!
Project Necessities:
-Multicolor craft paper
-Scissors
-Fishing line or any type of clear string
-Tape
-Patience (this took WAY longer than I thought but was very worth it)
The Process:
Start by cutting out as many hearts as you can, different sizes with different colors. Then, place each color in separate piles and lay out a long piece of fishing line, taping one side to the table. Begin taping hearts along the string until you get to the bottom (I decided to hang mine in and ombre pattern), leaving some room at the top free of hearts to tape to the ceiling, I left a few inches. Once they are complete, adhere them to the celling and ta-da!
You’re done!
