Thanksgiving 2017:
A Day of Thanks:
Ollie and I officially hosted our first holiday gathering at the house: TURKEY DAY! Even though the baseboards are still lined with blue tape and the walls remain artless, the house has never looked better! The kitchen was filled with all our go-to thanksgiving foods (and of course we make two of everything!) Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans - casserole and fresh - cranberry sauce, sweet yams and of course, gravy! Being this was the first event here at the house, everyone pitched in by brining serving utensils, bowls and platters which was a huge help! I couldn't have pulled this dinner off without the entire crew!
Decorating the table was a lot of pressure. If any of you have met my mother you know what I mean. She is literally Martha Stewart 2.0 (love you Mom!) I wanted to create a warm and welcoming table that incorporated the colors and textures that come to mind when you think of "fall". By using three bundles of silk flowers, my lazy susan and these antique, Moroccan wood carved panels I was able to create a beautiful and simple table for everyone to enjoy.
